Welcome to Kirk Yoga
Welcome to Kirk Yoga. This is your home for highly acclaimed online courses in Anatomy and Therapeutics for yoga. Whether you are a beginner, an accomplished student, or a teacher of yoga, the courses offered by Kirk Yoga will give you everything you need to expand your love and knowledge of the human body in extraordinary ways.
Martin Kirk has carefully designed each of the online courses we offer with exquisite attention to precision and detail. As an engineer with a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Martin is skilled at breaking down the learning process into simple, understandable steps that guide you to a solid understanding of how the body works. And because, Martin has over 20 years of experience as a yoga teacher, he is able to clearly identify exactly what the yoga student or teacher needs to know. And keeping the focus on what matters means you learn and retain more of what you need.
For instance, Martin doesn’t care if you know how many bones there are in the body, but he wants you to understand how the bones interact with each other. Martin is not impressed if you can list muscle insertions and attachments, but knowing how the bones move together when a muscle contracts is priceless. And Martin brings the heat when it comes to WHY we align and move in certain ways both on and off the yoga mat. WHAT will you need to know to keep your students and yourself safe during a yoga practice?
But mostly, Martin teaches with a playful passion born of his love of learning and sharing knowledge with others. Students say they never believed that learning anatomy or therapeutics could be so interesting and fun until they studied these courses. Many become anatomy nerds in their own right when they see the power of truly understanding the body. That’s why we offer these courses. We’re here to help you ignite your own playful passion for yoga and the amazing human body. Enjoy!
